  • In this Wildcrafting series kids will learn the basics of wood carving, including knife safety and proper selection of wood for carving. We will learn the fundamental techniques for safe carving and slowly build on these skills to create fun and useful crafts such as butter knives, spoons and wooden figures.

Carving with the proper tools, materials and techniques can be a very relaxing and creative way for kids to gain self confidence, develop hand strength and express themselves, while at the same time connecting to the trees in their local environment.

Students will be provided all tools necessary and any safety gear such as kevlar carving gloves.

No prior carving experience is required.
