Make a Tax-Smart Gift Through Your IRA
Support Kaniksu Land Trust with a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)—also known as an IRA Charitable Rollover—is a simple and impactful way to support Kaniksu Land Trust while potentially reducing your taxable income.
What is a QCD?
A QCD is a distribution made directly from your Traditional IRA to a qualified nonprofit, such as Kaniksu Land Trust. Unlike regular IRA withdrawals, QCDs do not count as taxable income—a win for both you and the land you love.
2025 Giving Limit
You can contribute up to $108,000 per year through QCDs. If you're married and file jointly, both spouses can contribute—potentially donating up to $216,000 annually.
This limit is adjusted annually for inflation.
Who Can Give via QCD?
You are eligible to make a QCD if:
You are 70½ or older
You have a Traditional IRA
Why Make a QCD?
✔ Reduce your income tax burden
QCDs lower your adjusted gross income (AGI), which may help you avoid being pushed into a higher tax bracket.
✔ Satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
If you are 73 or older, a QCD can count toward your RMD and help you avoid a 25% penalty tax on missed distributions.
✔ Maximize your impact
Because QCDs are tax-free transfers, Kaniksu Land Trust receives the full value of your gift—allowing your dollars to go further in protecting the lands and communities you cherish.
