KLT, Sandpoint Nordic Club, Pend Oreille Pedalers, Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness, and Idaho Conservation League will be showing some love for our trails at Pine Street Woods on Earth Day weekend. Experienced crew leaders will guide you in minor trail maintenance (and you’ll probably learn some cool stuff about trail work). Join us for one or both sessions.
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Trail love morning session: Trail crew leaders from SNC and POP will guide volunteers in clearing the wide and narrow trails after a brief orientation at the upper parking lot at Pine Street Woods. Warm eats and drinks will be served to volunteers thanks to a grant from Extreme Terrain and coffee donated by Evans Brothers. All ages welcome (kids must be accompanied by an adult). Tools provided. Joy included.
Noon to 1 p.m. Join ICL and FSPW for a lunch and learn presentation on hiking with dogs presented by Celeste Grace. Enjoy sandwiches from Mr. Sub and other snacks compliments of FSPW. Take the kids to the ICL and FSPW tables for face painting and an animal tracks activity.
1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Trail love afternoon session: Same as morning session.
Our trail love volunteer goal this year is 50 people. Will you be one of them?
See you on the trails!
