BECAUSE THIS MATTERS SO VERY MUCH

It’s what roots us here. And what makes us stay. We are connected to this land and to the water that flows through it. We are drawn to its beauty and its ability to calm and center us. We are its stewards and its protectors. Together this is our work. It takes all of us.

What is here now can be gone tomorrow. This is why the work we do together is so important.

Bring your children outdoors. Walk the trails. Protect the farms that feed us and the forests that shelter us. Save something special for tomorrow.

  • Prichard Creek

In a significant commitment to environmental stewardship, Idaho Forest Group (IFG) alongside various conservation partners has announced a landmark conservation easement aimed at preserving vital forest lands in Idaho. This agreement is set to protect thousands of acres of forest while promoting sustainable forest management practices that benefit both the ecosystem and the community.

  • Potlatch Loop

North Idaho’s first Community Housing Trust neighborhood will be built in Priest River. Six townhomes located within city limits will provide home ownership opportunities for local working families while keeping rural lands in tact.

  • Pine Street Sled Hill

KLT has now taken ownership of the historic Pine Street Sled Hill property. After a successful community fundraising campaign, generous support from businesses and foundations, and a grant from the US Forest Service, this iconic space has been conserved for future generations.

You SaveD the Sled Hill

It seems this special place was always destined to belong to the community. As we worked to preserve this land for future generations through the “Save the Sled Hill” fundraising campaign, these stories of friendship, community, and connection to the land were at the forefront of this effort. Community is what makes this magic happen!

All together now

Open space is the heart of our community. Since 2002, Kaniksu Land Trust has been coneserving the landscapes you cherish for future generations. We are a local, community supported organization that is staffed by local residents dedicated to saving land and serving the community. We work with landowners, donors, municipalities, agencies, and partner organizations that share a stake in what we do. It takes a lot of creative problem-solving, and a heaping dose of community fun to get the job done.
